The City of Eagle Pass and Maverick County announced on October 27, 2022, the construction of a $9.6 million Hyatt Place to be located adjacent to the City of Eagle Pass Patsy Winn Sports Complex.  The hotel is projected to generate 22 new jobs, provide an important boost to the city’s sports tourism industry, and create an investment opportunity for new retail and restaurant establishments for the area.

 The new 17,000 square foot Hyatt hotel will have four stories and have 100 extended stay guest rooms.  The facility will feature a conference room, an executive meeting room, swimming pool, fitness center, and a bar.

The project investor, Los Amigos Hospitality, LLC, is comprised of Oscar De Los Santos, Saul Rodriguez, and Gabriel Bustamante.  The City of Eagle Pass and Maverick County utilized the Texas Local Government Code Chapter 380 and Chapter 381 Program which provides municipalities and counties the authority to create and provide economic development programs using loans and grants.  This tool allows the City of Eagle Pass and Maverick County to facilitate business activity by diversifying the tax base, attracting new quality jobs, retaining, and growing local industries.
